I want to share with you 12 productive things you can do at home. Instead of mindlessly scrolling on social media, you can try these simple yet very productive ideas to pass the time.

All of these can help you manifest your desire, build your self-worth, and increase your physical and emotional strength.

1. Start a gratitude journal


A gratitude journal is a great way to show appreciation for the things you have. Being grateful can lower your stress levels, helps you sleep better at night, and centers around the positive aspects of your life.


When you start to acknowledge what you have instead of what you don‘t, more beautiful things will appear in your life and your gratitude will keep expanding. Now it‘s the perfect time to set aside 5 minutes to give your thanks.


To make a gratitude journal you need a journal or a simple notebook and a pen. Write 5 things you‘re grateful for. It doesn’t matter if they’re big or small. Doing that sends a signal to the Universe that you feel good and the Universe in return will keep sending you even more things to be grateful for.


Having a gratitude journal or as I call it a thank you diary can help you positively reflect on your past and often it reminds us how easily we forget the good memories.

2. Meditate


Meditation is a powerful way to lower your stress levels, to take control of your thoughts, and in time develop a more focused mind.


People are quick to dismiss meditation, saying that they can‘t sit still or they can‘t stop their thoughts. Meditation is not about clearing your mind from thoughts, it‘s more about learning how to observe your thoughts without having an emotional response. It‘s about sitting in a quiet room and being present in the moment.


Having thoughts is natural, that‘s what the brain is supposed to do – think. Instead of struggling to control your thoughts, simply focus on your breath.


Meditation is a skill and just like any skill, you start slowly. Set a timer for 10 or 15 minutes and sit comfortably. Begin by observing your breath. In and out. During that time you would notice thoughts appearing, don‘t grip onto them, let them pass as you bring your attention to your breath.


You can sit in a lotus position or find a comfortable chair to lean back. Don‘t fall asleep though.





3. Try positive affirmations


Positive affirmations can help you develop a more relaxed mindset and allow you to feel in control.

Every repeated thought and belief is an affirmation. Affirmations should be accompanied by a feeling of happiness and excitement.

The mind can’t tell what thoughts are real and what are not. So, every belief you feed it will be considered as true.


How to affirm correctly?


Breathe, relax the body for a few moments and say the affirmation a couple of times. It doesn’t matter if it’s aloud or not. Choose what works best for you. Be calm and in a good mood. Put a smile and while saying the words feel how you would feel if that affirmation was true right now. Let your mind imagine the feeling behind the words. Meaning you have to add visualization to your affirmation.


For example, if you want to be healthy you can see yourself doing an activity that implies you’re healthy.

I love and accept myself.

I am blessed.

I am a money magnet.

I’m grateful for the abundance I have, and the abundance on its way.

I am healthy, wealthy, happy, and wise.

4. Read a self-help book


Reading a self-help book is another positive idea to spend your time on. The purpose of self-help books is to get you the needed knowledge and the right tools to enhance your life.


They can teach you how to navigate through difficult life experiences, how to attract money, love, friends, power and many other things. Reading a self-help book is like having a coach just for yourself that wants you to be the very best and achieve everything your heart desires to.


When reading a self-help book you have to know that the change you desire can come only if you apply the tips shared in the book. Without applying the lesson you give yourself a false sense of productivity and then wonder why nothing works.

5. Try EFT to release negative emotions


EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is a tool that uses the meridian points which are also known as the energy hot spots to restore the balance in your mind and body. It‘s similar to acupuncture but you use your fingers.


EFT works by releasing trapped negative emotions or blockages like anxiety, stress, fear, shame, and guilt.  It is a self-help technique created in the early 90s by Gary Craig. He explains that every positive or negative thought is energy-charged and can affect and imbalance the body.

How you release these emotions is by tapping on the meridian points located on the face and body.  You don‘t need anything else to start and there are already premade videos and posts on the Internet for all kinds of problems.


I have been tapping for a few years and have seen great benefits from it. EFT has helped me release many negative emotions.


There are a lot of videos on Youtube but I recommend checking Brad Yates and Gary Craig, the creator of EFT.

6. Create a vision board


A vision board is a collection of visual representations of the goals you have. Some people show vision boards as some sort of magic, you put an image and boom you manifest all of your desires.


The key to vision boards is to use images that have meaning to you and that can be visualized as true. For example, if you create a vision board with images from 30 countries you want to travel to, most people would find that hard to believe it can happen. But if you’re a traveler full time it would be very easy to visualize and believe that it can manifest.


How to create your vision board?


Put a time frame like “My vision board for 2020 “. Decide on a few areas of your life you want to focus on. Cut images from magazines or print them. You can draw them as well.


Choose images that you want to manifest. If you want to drive a brand new car, place images of the car you want and maybe a person that’s driving a luxurious car, and while looking at the image, imagine that person being you right now.

Your vision board needs to be kept alive by giving it constant attention. So, place it somewhere you can look at it daily. But don’t just look at it. You have to visualize your goals as being already true right now.


If you don’t have a printer, you can make a digital board as well. Just find an online program that makes collages and create one or use a Pinterest board.



7. Focus on your skincare


Working from home may be the perfect moment to truly focus on your skincare while letting your skin breathe from wearing makeup.

Lately, the center of attention on social media has been flawless makeup, but you can‘t have a perfect finish if your skin is not taken care of.


To start a skin care regimen you don‘t need much. While every person‘s skin is different, there are a few steps that are identical for all. Following them can make a difference in how your skin looks.


You need a cleanser to cleanse your skin from all the makeup, dirt, and oils. Choose a cleanser that is gentle and has a pH balance between 4.5  – 5.5. A low pH cleanser can balance your skin and help with acne.

After that apply a product to hydrate the skin. A moisturizer rich in hyaluronic acid can soothe dehydrated skin and remove dry patches.

Find a good sunscreen. You need to protect yourself from the sun at all times to keep your skin looking young.

Exfoliation is a crucial step to remove dead skin cells and reduce texture in your skin. You can choose between a mechanical and chemical exfoliator. A mechanical exfoliator means using a scrub, washcloth or a spin brush to physically scrub the dead skin cells.


The chemical exfoliator utilizes AHAs and BHAs (Alpha or Beta hydroxy acids) to remove skin cells. Some well-known acids are salicylic acid, lactic acid, and glycolic acid.

It‘s recommended to exfoliate 1 or 2 times a week. More than that can irritate and may weaken your skin barrier.

After all, if you have good skin, you won‘t need that much makeup.



8. Do Face yoga/ face massages


Face yoga is really big at the moment. No wonder because the benefits of doing face yoga and facial massages are huge. Face yoga improves circulation, tightens the skin, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, and can fix facial asymmetry. You can slim down your face, remove double chin fat, make your eyes bigger with desire and patience.


Facial exercises are a healthy way to improve the condition of your skin without Botox or fillers.


Just like we need to exercise our bodies to keep them strong and healthy, we have to maintain the muscles in the face as well. In time, the skin loses its elastin and collagen and begins to sag.


There are thousands of videos on Youtube and you can search and find what you like. People that I watch and I use their techniques are:

9. Manifest something with the 5×55 manifestation method


The 5×55 manifestation method is an exercise to manifest your desires. According to the Law of Attraction, you attract what you focus your attention on.


55 in Numerology mean transformation, manifestation, evolution, big changes.  The number 5 incorporates the 5 natural elements – Air, Fire, Water, Earth, and Space.


The 5×55 manifestation method is not a miracle worker. It’s simply a technique to bring your desires to you. At the end of the day what comes down to is your faith.


The simplest explanation of the method is that you choose an affirmation that is in the present tense.  That’s important because you want to feel as if you already have your desire while writing.


The affirmation should summarize what you want to manifest.  For example, if you want to experience abundance and have more money you can affirm I am grateful that money comes to me easily.


After you choose an affirmation you have to write it 55 times for 5 days straight. It’s better to use a notebook and a pen because on the computer you can get easily distracted.


When you are deciding on an affirmation, use one that is short and straight to the point. It’s going to get tiring real fast when you have to write something for 55 times, so choose wisely.


If you skip a day, you need to start over. Don’t use negative words like don’t or no in your sentences.

Sometimes your desire manifests even before you have finished your 5 days. If that happens, well done. You can start over with a new desire in a few days.


If it doesn’t manifest instantly, because sometimes it takes time especially if it’s a massive change. Don’t worry, trust the process. You’ve already done the work, now it’s time to wait. Let go and let God.



10. Clear your youtube subscriptions


Let’s be honest. We all spend an unhealthy amount of time watching videos on Youtube. We’ve become obsessed.  The content is endless and there are so many clickbaity titles that just scream Watch me. No wonder, Youtube is optimized to keep us on for as long as possible. 


With our current situation, instead of spending even more time on the platform, you can unsubscribe from those channels that bring no value to your life.


Youtube can be a great source of education if used for that reason. There is a difference between using Youtube to complete your activities (like learning how to cook, do yoga, paint) and mindlessly consuming videos just for the sake of it.


If you have no self-control and have tried to cut down your Youtube intake but you can’t there are browser addons that let you disable some options like remove the sidebar, comment section, and hide the feed.  Only by doing that, you can decrease your consumption by half.

The one addon that I know and use is called DF Tube (Distraction Free for Youtube) and is available for Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.

11. Track your steps


I wasn’t going to put working out but come on it’s not really exercising. Just walk around the house. I’ve been eating more ever since the quarantine started because now I’m home all the time.


The benefits of walking are a lot. Walking can reduce the risk of strokes and heart attacks, manage conditions such as high cholesterol, diabetes, and joints pain. It promotes muscle strength and improves balance.


A pedometer provides a lighter exercise for your body compared to most workouts but it’s still a way to move those muscles and burn calories.


You can walk, run around the house or go up and down the stairs, you decide. The purpose is to maintain your overall health. You don’t have to run a marathon. Know that even a little bit of movement is still better than none at all.


To track your steps you can download a pedometer app on your phone. There are many available for Android and iOS on Google Play and App Store.





12. Try the Self-love mirror technique to improve your confidence


The self-love mirror technique is a powerful tool to clear negative beliefs, to improve your self-esteem and build inner love. And it also takes only 5 minutes to do.


When was the last time you looked at the mirror and liked everything that you see? Now you can do it. It’s like having a dialogue with yourself but you’re only allowed to be nice. Tell the person you see in the reflection how talented, beautiful, and strong they are. Don’t be shy.

To do the self-love mirror you need a mirror and 5 minutes of your time. Set the timer for exactly 5 minutes and just look in the mirror. Put a smile on your face and say whatever comes to your mind. The only rule is that it has to be positive. Let your mind guide you and compliment everything that comes naturally. It doesn’t matter what you say, it’s only important that it’s good.


When the time is up,  continue with your day. This exercise can sometimes bring tears but that is a good sign. It means you‘ve hit a string in your soul and you‘re now releasing a trapped negative emotion. You‘re crying because you‘re in the process of healing.
