Today you will find out how to make a rice scrub using rice flour to fade dark spots and remove acne. Rice is known for its exfoliating properties and the ability to aid in the regeneration process of the skin. Below are 3 simple recipes to help you reach that natural glowing skin.

What do you need to make an effective rice flour scrub?

Rice or rice flour.

You don’t need a specific brand or type of rice. It’s your choice although there is a slight difference between brown and white rice.

Brown rice is more exfoliating and is suitable for people with oily, combination and normal skin types. White rice works better for people with sensitive or dry skin. It has a gentle scrubbing agent.

What I like to do is mix equal parts of brown and white rice.

How to make a rice flour scrub:

  • You need one or two cups of rice. Take more if you want to make a bigger batch.
  • Grind the rice manually or use a blender. You would know it’s done when it ends up looking powdery but you can still feel the little grains when you touch it with your fingers.

You can skip this and buy rice flour. The benefits of making your own rice scrub are that you can control the consistency by making it gentler or harsher.

Rice and tea for getting rid of acne and achieving a brighter complexion

You need:

  • 2 tablespoons of rice flour
  • 1 and a half tablespoons of tea of your choice.

Green tea – helps with redness, clears acne, hydrates, protects against UV rays, evens out the skin tone.

Black tea – has antibacterial properties, prevents skin infections, reduces blemishes, and prevents sun damage.

Mix 2 tablespoons of rice flour with a few drops of the selected tea. You can make yourself a cup of tea and leave some at the bottom. Open the tea bag and pour a small amount of it over the rice flour.

Mix everything and massage gently onto the skin for one, two minutes. Wash with lukewarm water and apply moisturizer.

Rice and tomato juice for lightening acne scars

Tomato juice helps with discoloration, shrinks pores, heals acne, and controls excessive oiliness.

Mix two tablespoons of rice flour with a few drops of tomato juice. Apply to the skin in a circular motion. Leave on for a few minutes and rinse with lukewarm water.

A rice body scrub to even out your skin tone

You need:

  • 2 tablespoons of rice flour
  • 2 tablespoons of coffee
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil or coconut oil

This scrub is great for any skin type. It removes dead cells, fades stubborn self-tanner while softening the skin. Apply on the body and rub gently for a few minutes, your skin will turn red but don’t worry. Wash away and put on some lotion.

I am not a dermatologist. All the information I share is from personal experience and doing my own research on the Internet. Do a patch test before trying.

Also, be careful with over-exfoliating. If you see that your skin is looking inflamed and unusually red it could mean that you are overdoing it. Give your skin a break. Use the scrub once or twice a week and also don’t forget to moisturize.

Now let’s do a self-love exercise.

Choose one of the scrubs. Look in the mirror before you apply it on the face and state one positive affirmation. But don’t just say it, claim it, affirm it and allow yourself to believe it’s true. It may be I am beautiful or my skin is lovely. Choose the right one for you, you will feel it.

You can pick one from my list of positive affirmations I use. Say it a few times aloud with emotion, smile as you say it. Confirm it. Yes, it is true. I have beautiful skin. Don’t let yourself be fooled by your logical thinking. We create our reality; so that means we can change it and improve it.

If you feel tears coming in, consider them tears of joy, because you are finally taking your power back.

While applying the scrub, do it with a purpose. You are not using it because of something negative, your skin is already beautiful, but you want to pamper it. You love your skin and your skin will thank you.

After you have completed all the wonderful procedures, wash your face, and don’t throw this new person you created into the garbage. Allow it to spill on you like perfume, to become part of you, and wear it until it begins to manifest itself in your physical reality.

Remember, you are wonderful.
